Föhr-Land

Föhr-Land is an Amt ("collective municipality") in the district of Nordfriesland, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It covers the island of Föhr (except the independent town Wyk auf Föhr), in the North Sea, approx. 45 km northwest of Husum. Its seat was in Midlum until August 1st, 2006, since then it has been in the town hall of Wyk auf Föhr because there will be a merger of the administrations of Föhr-Land and Wyk on January 1st, 2007, which will lead to a new collective municipality for the entire island of Föhr. The authorities, however, decided to move offices even earlier.
Until January 1st, 2007, the Amt Föhr-Land consists of the following municipalities (population in 2005 between brackets):
