Fair is a Christian alternative rock band that features notable musician and producer Aaron Sprinkle; they are currently signed to Tooth & Nail Records. Sprinkle was formerly the guitarist for pioneering Christian alternative band Poor Old Lu in the 1990s. After Poor Old Lu broke up, Sprinkle released several albums, both as a solo artist and as the lead singer of the band Rose Blossom Punch. He became better known, however, for his work producing albums for Christian bands such as Anberlin, Demon Hunter, Kutless, and Emery. In 2005, Fair was created out of the members of Sprinkle's touring band -- Sprinkle, fellow Poor Old Lu alum Nick Barber, Erick Newbill, and Joey Sanchez.
The band recorded their first album throughout the fall and winter of 2005/2006 in Seattle. The album, named The Best Worst-Case Scenario, was released on June 6, 2006 to virtually universal rave reviews. Fair supported the release of the album by touring with Eisley in the spring of 2006.
