Fairview Elementary School (Illinois)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Fairview Elementary School is an elementary school in the village of Mount Prospect, Illinois. The original school was built in the 1950s during the baby boom. However, the student population through out the 1970s and 1980s in the village was decreasing. Many schools were closed, and the remaining students were consolidated into the remaining schools (including Fariview). Fairview was expanded in 1974, but the school came to be too small and was demolished in 1994. One year later in 1995, the new Fairview Elementary School was dedicated. The school houses 1st through fifth grade. Until August 2006, Fairview held kindergarten students as well Those students were moved to Westbrook School in order to help relieve the serious overcrowding issues Fairview as well as mostly every public school in village is facing.
