[edit] FastServers.Net History
CEO Ian Andrusyk and CIO Travis Schaffner first conceived the idea of building a hosting company – PowerSurge Technologies, Inc. – in 1996. Referred to as PowerSurge, the company’s core offerings were primarily shared Linux and Windows 2000 hosting services. PowerSurge was changed to FastServers.Net in 1999. Within its first year of operation, FastServers.Net acquired 50 new international customers. In 2001, Ian and Travis redeveloped the company’s core products and services offerings and began focusing on providing dedicated server solutions to other web hosting companies.
Since the change in 1999 – 2001, FastServers.Net has experienced considerable growth and now host over 3,400 servers across three data centers. In March of 2004, FastServers.Net became its own entity, focusing entirely on dedicated and co-location hosting. As a result of the change, FastServers.Net no longer has to compete with the customers it serves. Now, the focus is completely on products and services related to high-level hosting.
