Lt. Col. Fatehsinghrao Prataprao Gaekwad (born 1930-04-02 in Baroda - died 1988-09-01 in Bombay) was a former Maharaja of Baroda.
Fatehsinghrao Gaekwad was a Member of Parliament, Parliamentary Secretary of the Defense Ministry, MLA in Gujarat, Minister of Health, Fisheries and Jails, Chancellor of the Maharaja Sayajirao University in Baroda and Chairman of the Board of Governors, National Institute of Sports in 1962-63. He authored 'Palaces of India'.
Gaekwad was the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India from 1963-64 to 1965-66 and Vice-president from 1959-60 to 1962-63. He was the manager of the Baroda cricket association from 1960. He managed the Indian teams to England in 1959 and Pakistan in 1978-79 and 1982-83. He was only twenty nine years old when he managed the 1959 team.
He represented Baroda in Ranji Trophy between 1946-47 and 1957-58 and had a highest score of 99 made in his first season. Gaekwad was an attacking right handed batsman. He played against the touring teams on various occasions between 1948 and 1954. He was an expert cricket commentator in radio and was made a honorary life member by the MCC.
He died in the Breach Candy Hospital in Bombay.
