FDLinux
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
FDLinux is a Linux distribution designed in 2000 to run off one floppy and a i386 CPU. It works excellently on computers with more than eight megabytes of RAM. The lead developer was deployed to Iraq, during this time no updates where made, and the world switched from 3.5 inch floppies to flash drives. Work is on the way to make it work with USB drives.

[edit] About
The project's lead and probably only developer is Adam Dosch. What sets this Linux distro apart is that it supports networking, many floppy based operating systems did not. Another main feature was ease of use, even with the command line. This was achieved by well written documention, and not duplicating the same tools, for instance having VI and Emacs, instead of one or the other.
