[edit] School Name
In 2003 (or 2002 -- I can't quite remember), the school had its name changed from Feilding Agricultural High School (FAHS) to FAHS Feilding High School. The FAHS was later removed.
There was much discussion regarding this change. The main argument was that the word Agricultural is translated (or interpreted) as peasant in some Asian languages. This meant that the school was regarded less highly in these areas and would mean that less (income-bearing) foreign students would attend the school. Many people wanted to keep the name as it reflected on the history of the school, and emphasised the strong horticulture and agriculture departments within the school.
