Felix Baumgartner

Felix Baumgartner (born 1969 in Austria) is a skydiver and a BASE jumper. His nickname is "Fearless Felix" and "God of the skies" because of the dangerous nature of the stunts he has performed during his career.
In 1999 he claimed the world record for the highest parachute dive from a building. When he jumped from the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from a height of 451 metres.[citation needed]
In the same year, he claimed the world record for the lowest parachute dive (only 38 metres) when he leaped from the Christ the Redeemer (statue) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.[citation needed]
On 31st July, 2003, Felix became the first person to cross the English Channel in freefall using a specially made fibre wing[citation needed]. A similar wing[1] has since been used by the Special Air Service (UK special forces) for stealth operations.
He became the first person to BASE jump from the Millau Viaduct in France on 27 June 2004[citation needed]. And the first person to sky dive onto, then BASE jump from the Turning Torso building in Malmö Sweden on 18 August 2006[citation needed].
