[edit] Civility
It is important to keep a cool head, especially when responding to comments against you or your edits. Personal attacks and disruptive comments only escalate a situation; please keep calm and remember that preventive administrative action can be taken against other parties if necessary. Attacking another user back can only satisfy trolls or anger contributors and leads to general bad feeling. Please try to remain civil with your comments. Thanks! - I'd be more willing to remain civil if she hadn't come here screaming her head off in the first place. Fethers 16:42, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
- Well your reaction doesn't help the situation. If you remain calm, it's more likely that others will as well. Metros232 16:51, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
- Judging by her previous behavior, I don't find it likely. As you see above, I will not be speaking with her any further. Fethers 16:55, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Blodless bullfighting - the pictures, part deux
Just to sum things up I have not, as mentioned on the talk page of the article, seen the pictures you tagged. I specifically explained that in my first message on the subject. What I said on the talk page was that if she removes the copyright tag from the description and she is the legal copyright holder and mentions this instead then she is free to release them under Creative Commons. You may also notice that I came up with two alternative solutions to begin with. As for altering the pictures then yes you can do so, the usual rules apply when you change something on Wikipedia. You cannot however, distribute it without maintaining the same license as the one she chose and without giving her proper credit for the picture. The copyright remains with her just like when you write an article. You just license it under the terms of the GFDL. This is what I promised to help her with because she seemed confused. Also, it really is considered good behaviour to notify the original poster of the material you tag for speedy. Like I said it could have been a simple honest mistake that lead to this confusion. It is not always about being right, sometimes it is about helping those who haven't been here so long. She says she is confused by the number of licenses. So explain calmly to her what the different licenses mean so that she is can choose the right one. If you are new to Wikipedia everything seems very confusing. I realize that she is the one who stormed in here and yelled at you. But you didn't try to prevent the situation by calmly and friendly explain to her when you tagged them why you did so and what she would have to do to get the pictures properly licensed to Wikipedia. Also, if you must archive your talk page so often please leave direct links to the parts directly related to warnings posted by admins, thank you. MartinDK 10:17, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
- As I am located in Denmark it is getting very late. I just wanted to thank you for posting your advice and explanations on her talk page. I am going to try tomorrow to get this situation settled and help her fix the signature. Once again thank you for responding to my message, I really appreciate how you are being the bigger more experienced editor here and hopefully things will calm down once it is clear to her that this could be solved very easily if she follows yours, Metros' and my advice. Happy holidays, MartinDK 23:00, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
- My patience has been exhausted multiple times with her. She doesn't understand the goals of the project, the use of the GFDL or how to license anything properly. She wants her photos intact on Wikipedia, but doesn't wish them to be free, despite the fact that the image upload page specifically states "If you upload a file here to which you hold the copyright, you must license it under a free license or release it into the public domain." It's ridiculous, and what's more, it's becoming more and more obvious to me that she only intends to use en-wiki to promote her work, whether through external links or her User page. On top of that, despite my attempt to explain everything to her calmly, and help her to understand, she attacks me further, then goes on to archive the discussion before I can even respond to it. I'm at the end of my rope, and I don't know what to do. She doesn't intend to follow any policies or guidelines, and still apparently believes that she owns the content she puts in the wiki. Suggestions? Fethers 16:34, 25 December 2006 (UTC)
- I totally understand what you are saying. I think a cooling off period would be good for her and since she has stated rather firmly on Talk:Bloodless bullfighting that she is giving up on the pictures then I think that will more or less happen by itself. Claiming to be constantly attacked or calling others disruptive is most certainly a personal attack and I trust that Metros will keep an eye on things, given that he is an admin. Calling Metros disruptive several times is definately a severe test of his patience. I think we have run out of options, the message you posted to her was the last attempt to resolve this in peace. If she turns around again and launches any personal attacks it is her own responsibility. If she decides to cool off and follow one of the three options outlined by us for solving this in peace and in accordance with policy then hopefully she can provide some constructive contributions. As long as the spam links are gone and the article remains tagged as POV until all views are represented I don't see a reason why it shouldn't be there. Clearly it is notable and she is knows what she is talking about when it comes to this subject. Anyways, you did everything that could be expected of you as did Metros. That's all we can really do right now as long as Metros won't block her for her responses. I still think she is more confused about the project as such than determined to cause problems. But her temper makes it difficult to explain these things to her. Happy holidays, MartinDK 17:19, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Shrek the Third
It's Regis as the ugly stepsister, not Larry King. -- Ipstenu (talk|contribs) 18:51, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- There are two ugly stepsisters in Cinderella; see IMDB. fethers 19:12, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- Missed it, my bad. Thanks :) (FYI, watch your reverts, you changed a Merlin ref I'm trying to fix, since Wizard831 is adding in 'Merlin the Magician', which isn't how the name is listed in IMDb - I think due to licenses with Disney). Also, Shrek doesn't go 100% by the stories. Not every Cinderella story has two stepsisters, and the Shrek folks are trying to avoid lawsuits with Disney all over. -- Ipstenu (talk|contribs) 19:31, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- I've never even seen the Disney version, I've only ever read the Grimm Brothers' version and La Cenerentola. I think Disney'd be hard-pressed to go after Dreamworks for prior art with a pair of ugly stepsisters. fethers 19:36, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your message. Have you seen Wikipedia:Copyright_problems because of the similarity of the article and [1]. MikeHobday 23:28, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not surprised. It's one of the websites that User:Pebs96 has created on the subject to promote her business. She's been warned about it previously, and it's been resurrected on WP:COI/N. Thanks for the note, though. fethers 00:12, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
- I just spotted the copyright issue too. Major conflict between the required GFDL and the heavy copyright notice at the foot of the above web page. As with the photos, User:Pebs96 can't both release it here and maintain copyright control. I've no doubt that it's authentic material based on collective personal knowledge, but even without the obvious COI the complete lack of third-party sourcing is a big breach of WP:RS. Tearlach 00:29, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
- And now the personal attacks by User:Pebs96 start on COI/N. Que sera sera. fethers 04:13, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

yo why are you taking the color of the Eli Manning page —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Bucs10 (talk • contribs) 00:31, 24 February 2007 (UTC).
- Because the colors you keep putting on there are COMPLETELY ILLEGIBLE. Bright red on navy blue doesn't contrast enough for most peoples' eyes to pick it up. The text should contrast so it's completely legible. fethers 17:02, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

Take a look and tell me what you think I could probably figure out a way to fill it out for the other fields as well (e.g. Team(s), Stats, Career Highlights). Or it could just stay the way it is. Comment on the article's talk age I have it on my watchlist and will respond swiftly. Quadzilla99 12:06, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
