[edit] What about meta-fictional drug addicts?
If there's an Odysseus of drug addiction, it has to be Bill Lee in Cronenberg's adaptaion of William Burroughs' Naked Lunch. Of course, it's impossible to say definitively whether Bill Lee was or was not Burroughs himself, or even whether that would make Lee non-fictional or not either way. I think he should be included since that's exactly the sort of character one might visit a list like this in search of.

You should include Absorbing Man in this list too. Everyone who has read some of Spider-Man's latest comics (or Thor's older comics, or whatever comic he has appeared in) knows how much he is into cocaine.
Also Flash rogue Mirror Master (cocaine).
