[edit] I added something
in the discussion of the caption of that Merchant Marine photo that might, or might not help. Check it out and see what you think. It does not really change the caption of the photo, though, which i think is just something along the lines of "Merchant Marines, North Atlantic, WWII", which is what and where the picture is. The possibility that the shot was "staged" by the crew is, in my mind, running about 97.5%, but it is still what the caption claims. Does this help? can I do more? [edit] Maritime trades invite
Hi Fishdecoy, based on your comments at the USMM article, I thought this might be of interest! Cheers. Haus42 01:25, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Aloha!
Hey, thanks for the nice note this morning, and for the copy-edits! Trust that I cringe every time I put in a he/him, but turning a 500-line list where every line starts: "The officer..." into prose is a challenge :). If you'd like to announce yourself and the stuff you're working on at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Maritime_Trades, I'm sure you can get a little feedback as well as helping to build some momentum for the project. [edit] Bilgepumper's Barnstar
Cheers! Haus42 14:45, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks much for the editing barnstar! The image reminds me of one of my tasks as an ordinary on an ocean tug: stripping to my skivvies, then crawling beneath cross members in a bilge to clean out the muck. Somebody has to do it.
