[edit] The Fitzgerald Theater is *not* on the NRHP!
I am one of the people who work for the Fitzgerald Theater. I have checked with all the other staff, and we are *sure* we are not on the NRHP. I looked on the NRIS site, and the house that F. Scot Fitzgerald lived in is registered, as is the Shubert Theater in *Minneapolis*, but there is no listing for the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul. Also, since we run the place, I imagine we would know if such an honor had been bestowed on the theater.
If this is not the place to put this information, I apologize. I have edited pages in the past, but mostly for small things like grammar and spelling. I though maybe I should check with someone before I make any major changes to a page.
Thanks!

- This does appear to be the case. Thought it might be listed under its old name of "World Theater", but that doesn't appear to be the case either. Is the address 10 E Exchange Street? If so, you're right, it's not on the register. Which is surprising, as it more than qualifies. I'm going to check further, and if there's no other evidence, the NRHP info in the article will be removed. Thanks for the heads up! --Ebyabe 03:21, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
- The Fitzpatrick Building is on the same block, at 465-467 N. Wabasha Street. Is the Fitzgerald part of it? Maybe that's the confusion? --Ebyabe 16:49, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
- The address of the Fitzgerald Theater is 10 E. Exchange St. I'm not sure about The Fitzpatrick Building; I've never heard of it. I'll ask around. Is The Fitzpatrick Building on the NRHP? Also, wouldn't someone tell us if the theater was on the NRHP, even as part of another building or complex?
- Thanks for your quick response! 216.250.174.253 22:17, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
- My guess is that somebody conflated the St. Paul Shubert Theatre with the Minneapolis Shubert Theatre, which was indeed added to the NRHP in 1995: [1] Whyaduck 00:30, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
- And my guess would be wrong. I did some more checking and the Shubert Theatre in St. Paul is listed on the NRHP, added in 1984, so the only thing the article gets wrong is the year the building was listed. It's under "S" for Shubert on this Ramsey County listings page:[2]Whyaduck 05:45, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

- The MPR page for the Fitzgerald Theater states that it was named the Sam S. Shubert Theater when it was built, and then renamed the World Theater in 1933. MPR bought it in 1980 and then renamed it to the Fitzgerald Theater in 1994. I checked the National Register database (the copy I downloaded to my machine) and it appears to be listed as the Shubert Theater, but when I checked the National Register Information System, it isn't listed. I'll have to recheck this after I get back from vacation, which will be early next week. --Elkman - (Elkspeak) 16:26, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
