when no information are available that how much is accupied by major shareholders, then how to calculate the free float for any comapny, can we estimate by using anyother method i.e., by considering past month traded valume then do something
As the shareholdings for the company need to be notified to the regulatory authorities and are publicly available, the question probably doesn't arise for professional analysts. For the rest of us, I have no idea - but how often do we try to work out the free float of a company anyway?
