Ford I4 DOHC engine

The Ford I4 DOHC engine was a 4-cylinder inline internal combustion engine produced by the Ford Motor Company from 1989 right into the 1990's. It was used in the Ford Sierra, Ford Scorpio and more. It was designed to replace the 2.0L Ford Pinto engine which many people still prefer.
The original 8 valve version was produced from 1989 onwards with a capacity of 2.0 liters and was placed into the Ford Sierra and Ford Scorpio (the CVH engine was used for the 1.6 and 1.8 liter models to replace the Pinto). It had 3 different variations.
Then later on a 16 valve version was available in the Ford Scorpio, Ford Galaxy and more in 2.0 and 2.3 capacities. These produced more power due to having more valves.
