Forrest Lewinger is a super hero character in the comic strip Ferneater published by Hot Jams Comics from 1984 to 1987. Forrest Lewinger is known for his intensely strong grip, his ability to walk at speeds faster than the average human can walk at comfortably, and a stare that was supposedly intimidating on account of the length of time he could go for without blinking.
Ferneater's other memorable characters, Naomi Zeichner and Kelsey Brooks, are remembered for efficiency and elasticity.
Naomi's brown brother Natan Zeichner appeared in the three editions published in 1986, before he was written out of the series, on a trip to Nicaragua.
Issue #7, in which Lewinger does battle with poet-turned-poacher Joe Haley at the New York Public Library, recently sold for $35 at Atlanta Comicon.
Issue #39 features Pedro, the obscure incontinent canine, who aided Forrest in a struggle against his arch nemesis Hans. Pedro, however, was shortly discontinued from the series due to his incessant sobbing.
