Francisco Ferreras (free-diver)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Francisco Ferreras, best known as Pipin (born January 18, 1962) is a Cuban free-diver.
He was born in Matanzas, on the northern coast of Cuba, and began to practice free-diving at the age of 5. In the 1980s-1990s he established a series of World Records, often in rivalry with his friend, Umberto Pelizzari from Italy.
He wrote a book, The Dive: A Story of Love and Obsession, in which he describes his career and, in particular, his life with his wife, the French free-diver Audrey Mestre, who died during a World Record attempt.
