Frankfurt Südbahnhof is one of the three remote stations of the city. Contrary to the main station it is not a head, but a through station and counts 9 tracks at five platforms. It is retaining station for some courses of long-distance traffic (ICE, IC) and for the regional traffic (RegionalExpress and RegionalBahn). Beyond that it is one of the large rapid-transit railway cross of the Frankfurt city center.
