Franklin Salas

Franklin Agustín Salas Narváez (born 30 August 1981 in Los Bancos) is an Ecuadorian football striker playing for LDU Quito. His nickname is Mago, meaning wizard.
He was a regular member of the national team, but was not called up to the 2006 FIFA World Cup squad due to a serious knee injury which required surgery. He scored the winning goal against Colombia in World Cup Preliminaries, 2 June 2004.
He was also a call-up for U-20 team at 2001 FIFA World Youth Championship and made three substitutes appearances.
Noted for his skillful dribbling skills. His hard shot from 25 yards won the award for the goal of the tournament in the 2005 edition of the Copa Sudamericana.
