František Cardinal Tomášek (born June 30, 1899 in Studénka in Moravia, died August 4, 1992 Prague in Czechoslovakia) was a significant dignitary of the Roman Catholic Church in Bohemia, was the 34th Archbishop of Prague, a Roman Catholic theologian.
- July 5, 1922 – ordained for priest
- 1940–1945 teacher at the diosean theological training institution in Olomouc
- October 14, 1949 – secretly ordained for bishop
- July 23, 1951 – May 28, 1954 – interned by the Communists in the camp of Želiv
- 1954–1965 – priest in Moravská Huzová
- 1962–1965 – took part in the Second Vatican Council
- 1965 – appointed administrator of the archdiocese of Prague
- 1977 – refused to sign the Charter 77
- June 27, 1977 appointed cardinal
- December 30, 1977 appointed the 34th archbishop of Prague
- 1978 – took part in the conclave in the Vatican, which elected the new Pope, was present during the election of John Paul I as well as John Paul II
- 1989 – supported Czechoslovak students and actors in their struggle for democracy (see Velvet Revolution)
