Franz, Duke of Hohenberg

Franz, Duke of Hohenberg was born at Artstetten Castle, Lower Austria, on 13 September 1927. He was the eldest son of Maximilian, Duke of Hohenberg and Countess Maria von Waldburg zu Wolfegg und Waldsee. He was also a grandson of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria and Hungary, Heir Presumptive to the throne of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and his morganatic wife Sophie, Duchess of Hohenberg.
He was born His Serene Highness Prince Franz of Hohenberg, but in 1962 on the death of his father became the 2nd Duke of Hohenberg and Head of the House of Hohenberg.
On 9 May [[1956] Prince Franz married HRH Princess Elisabeth of Luxembourg, a daughter of Grand Duchess Charlotte of Luxembourg. The couple had two children:

Franz, Duke of Hohenberg died at Ried in der Reidmark on 16 August 1977) and was succeeded by his younger brother, Georg, Duke of Hohenberg.
