This is intended as a sub-category of surfing, for both river and lake surfing.
Areas for growth could include adding fresh water surfing locations, although in the case of lake surf breaks those could also be added to current categories and lists for traditional surf breaks (as per Sheboygan, Wisconsin in List of surfing areas).
Lake and river surfing are obviously very different. What they share is their unique non-ocean status. They are grouped here under the Fresh water surfing category but could merit their own categories as more articles appear.
Tidal bores remain a problem, as they would seem to involve an influx of salt or brackish water moving up a fresh water river.
