Its founder and Executive Director Dennis Harper is an expert in technology education. The organization is closely affiliated with its for-profit counterpart, GenYES.

"The Genenation Y Foundation promotes constructive technology use by youth. We will accomplish this mission by providing resources, materials, models, and collaborative oppontunities for youth: created, coordinated, and constructed by thein peers."[1]

Generation Y has recieved important attention from across the technology and education communities. The organization has been featured in The NEW Curriculum[2] and GovernmentChangeAgents.Com[3], among other publications. Founder Dennis Harper has been widely acknowledged for his work related to Generation Y. Generation Y has also recieved funding from major foundations, including the Verizon (formerly MCI) Foundation.[4]
Generation is is widely acknowledged for their technology literacy programs for youth, having worked with more than 10,000 students across the country[5], and for their dramatic project addressing the same issue for students in Liberia[6]

Generation YES (Youth and Educators Succeeding), is a U.S. technology education corporation that works with schools around the world. Dennis Harper is the founder and President. Their programs focus on student centered, project-based learning "experiences that impact student's lives and increase student involvement in school and community through technology. In addition, all Generation YES programs improve the use of technology in the school as a whole."[1] Generation YES has provided more than 1,000 K-12 schools with technology programs. These programs include: · GenYES - Engaging students to assist teachers as they integrate technology in classrooms (originally known as www.GenY) · TechYES - Engaging students as mentors and evaluators of fellow students' project-based learning activities. · Generation TECH - Engaging students as technology support experts in schools. GenYES is closely affiated with Generation Y Foundation, a nonprofit organization promoting technology access. Awards and recognition GenYES has been recognized nationally and internationally as an important technology instruction company. In 2000, GenYES was awarded one of two "Exemplary" designations by the U.S. Department of Education's Educational Technology Expert Panel.[2] In 2003 Generation YES was named "Rookie of the Year" at the EdNET Industry Awards. The company and its programs have been featured in numerous important education publications, technology industry magazines, and academic journals. These include Educational Leadership[3] and T.H.E. Journal[4]. USA Today also featured GenYES when it was known as www.GenY[5] Generation YES has been featured in several other publications[6], and has been cited in several books, as well.
