From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Frito-Lay is an American and International maker of corn chips, potato chips, and other snack foods. Its headquarters is based on Legacy Drive in Plano, Texas, USA (a suburb of Dallas). They operate a very large plant undergoing expansion in Beloit, Wisconsin.
Frito-Lay was the result of the merger of the Fritos Company and Atlanta-based H.W. Lay & Company in 1961. In 1965, a merger of Frito-Lay, Inc. and the Pepsi-Cola Company resulted in the formation of PepsiCo, Inc. Currently, PepsiCo retains ownership of the Frito-Lay Company, Tropicana Products, The Quaker Oats Company, and The Smith's Snackfood Company, Gatorade, and various other ventures.
Walkers is the largest snack food manufacturer in the United Kingdom best known for manufacturing crisps and is a subsidiary of Frito-Lay.
