FULL CIRCLE COMIX
Full Circle Comix, a small press comic book publishing company, was created in the fall of 1976 by three writers and artist friends who were students on the campus of Muskegon (MI) Community College; Jeff Cooke, Kevin S. Collier and William Shady.
Their first book, "Amazing Stories" #1 was published in December 1976, dated January 1977, and featured Cooke's The Whip, Collier's Capt. Head and Shady's The Dead Sleeper. While Shady departed the group the first year, primarily Cooke and Collier continued the publishing venture (although Collier was in and out frequently) until the early 1980s. Over 60 titles were published and the comics group also featured members such as Scott Rosema, Jeff Barker, Mark Heike, Jeff Wilcox, Aaron Wirrick, Willie Peppers and a few others..
The Whip and Capt. Head became the group's primary characters and in 1979 Full Circle entered the comics fandom market nationally and received positive reviews. in 2004 Full Circle Comix made a brief comeback publishing over a dozen titles including the first new Cooke/Collier team works in over two decades and included Jeff's son, Andy Cooke who wasn't even born during the original run. The company suspended operations that same year.
Cooke is involved in many media outlets via writing and still illustrates on occasion. Collier writes and draws children's books. Andy is also pursuing illustrating jobs.
