Fuuka Ayase

Fuuka Ayase (綾瀬風香 Ayase Fūka?), also translated as Fuka Ayase, is a fictional character from the manga series Yotsuba&!.

At 16 years of age, Fuuka is the second eldest daughter of the Ayase Household. She is a very friendly and carefree girl, who often offers to lend a hand in whatever adventure Yotsuba is involved in. As such, she has become an elder sister figure to Yotsuba. She travels by bicycle to attend a nearby high school, which has as yet not been named.

Fuuka has previously had a crush on an unknown character. However, this relationship ended when she saw the guy she liked with another girl. It is explained that although she liked this boy, he did not express affection towards her. It is unclear if she ever made her affections known to the boy.
She also maintains a friendly relationship with Yotsuba's adoptive father, often asking Yotsuba for more information about him in an effort to get to know him better. This relationship is unlikely to grow to a point where they become anything more than friends, however it is the basis for many dōjinshi.

The rest of Ayase sisters, Asagi and Ena, appeared in "Try! Try! Try!" (1998) for the first time. Fuuka （風香 lit."Windscent"）, however, first entered the stage in Yotsuba&! (2003- ). A girl named Fuuka also made an entrance in TTT, but her Japanese original name is written as 風夏, literally meaning "Windsummer". 風夏's outward appearance and inward personality differ from 風香's on a large scale.
