I can't see the relevence of the Old Firm information. Nothing is cited, and the two consecutive statements seem to conflict... ie. Celtic & Rangers don't want to be members, but should be allowed membership because they have lots of fans. G-14 has had a lot of friction with Chelsea, one of the leading clubs in modern football. It should be mentioned alongside the fact that Chelsea is not a member even though it is one of the biggest clubs in the world now. Zuracech lordum 20:22, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

I suggest that this group has no credibility if it sees fit to include Juventus, Porto and PSV all of whom are Mickey Mouse clubs. In all honesty, how can a group of the big 14 in Europe omit Chelsea, Celtic and Rangers ? PalX 13:42, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

Indeed. Personal opinions are not allowed in wikipedia. Only facts should be mentioned. How can Celtic and Rangers be a great club when they fail to even make it past the Champions League Groups Stage every year. Porto and PSV have reached the semi-finals in the last five years and Juventus, despite being relegated, are one of the richest clubs in the world. Zuracech lordum 09:07, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

No I am not stupid and I resent the personal attack. This is not permitted on Wikipedia. As for personal opinion, this is a discussion page, not the article. To clarify why I say they are 'Mickey Mouse'. Juventus' average attendance of 25,000 is only eighth best in the Italian 20-team Serie A league, less than 40 percent of their stadium capacity. They don't even play in Serie A anymore. They aren't even the biggest team in Turin. QED. PalX 08:39, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

Juventus is in Serie B not from the top division.

History of G-14:

1996: called "Champions of Europe Association" with only 8 founding members (the only real great teams in Europe for its history, performance, official trophies and money: Madrid, Milan, Juventus FC, Liverpool, Ajax, Bayern, Barcelona and Inter).

2000: + other clubs ("Millennium members"): ManUtd, Porto, Borussia D., Marseille, PSG, PSV. For these 14 members the group is called G-14.

2002: + other clubs (Ultimate associated): Arsenal, Lyonnais, Valencia and Leverkusen.

Answers for your question:

Does anybody in Turin care Juventus? Yes. If they were not one of the biggest teams, they would not have so many ultras who attend in the stadium in every matches. You should come to Italy and you will see that Juve are one of the most beloved clubs in that country.

Why are Juve in the G-14? Because Juve have a successful history and they are one of the most respected clubs in the history. They had many famous legend players, e.g. Michel François Platini, who is the president of UEFA now. I will give you another example why Juve are in the G-14. They have won European Champions League, which Chelsea and Glasgow Rangers have not got yet.

Anyway, I want to tell you that your question is irrelevant here. Sorry. Wikipedia is the place where we put facts. Your question refers to the opinion of yourself and the other people. We do not write any opinion here. Thanks for your understanding.

Can I just mention to everyone how average Chelsea were before they got took over, they were no where near the standards of Juventus's history. Everyone on here seems to know nothing about football pre-2004. Juventus are European giants, they have won the record amount of Serie A titles, 2 european cups, they were the dominant team in europe throughout the 90s, they have reached the the knockout stages of the european cup a lot in recent year, including the final in 2003. Chelsea are a great club now, thanks to millions of pounds of investment, but they are not one of the biggest clubs in the world, Juventus will be far more well-known around the globe than Chelsea. So theyre in serie B, if man utd or liverpool suddenly got relegated tomorrow for match fixing, you think they would suddenly be forgot about and classed as a "mickey mouse side" despite their immensely successful history? No, they wouldnt, Juve will be back next year to take the title back from Inter and will yet again stake their claim to being the Italian giants which they certainly are. Teams like Liverpool, Man United, Real Mardid, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Barca, AC, Juve- they have all earned their right to be in the g14 by huge success and great history. Juventus might not have the most fans in turin but they are the biggest supported team in Italy. Chelsea didnt always sell out before ambramovich came along. If chelsea should be in it, thats debatable for a club with no success in champions league history, however I know that for definite previous winners like Porto, Juve and PSV should definitely not be taken out. Just because you have little knowledge on the subject of history of football and think theyre "mickey mouse clubs" that shows how uneducated you are. PSV and Porto have won the european cup on multiple occasions- they are both huge sides in their respected countries. Please guys, Juve, PSV and Porto all deserve a place more than chelsea- they have been there for years unlike chelsea who wouldnt even be considered was it not for very recent success thanks to hundreds of million of pounds of investment. In my opinion, if you were to take out 3 teams it certainly shouldnt be psv, juve or porto, but instead PSG, Leverkusen and Marseilles- who have had less success than the others. There have been talks about 'possibility' that Chelsea would become new member of G-14. However, there has not been any report recently confirming such claims, nor claims that negotiation between both parties are ongoing. Secondly, every football club has a 'possibility' to become new member, and Chelsea FC is not the only the potential candidate. Therefore, the mention of Chelsea as the 'New Member Possibility' does not seem to be factual that should be included in the article and thus has been removed.
