Gabriel Özkan (born May 23, 1986 in Stockholm) is a promising young midfielder who plays for AIK Fotboll. Gabriel joined AIK in the summer of 2006 from Brommapojkarna, after coming through their youth academy and eventually becoming a vital first-team player, although still being a teenager. At AIK he is best known for his speed, creativity, dribble skills and an eye for goal. Gabriel also has a good first-touch, dangerous long-distance shooting and is very unpredictable in his movement and has a lot of flair.
Widely tipped as a future star for Sweden and probably it's just a matter of time before he ends up in one of the top leagues in Europe. Although he has told the media he will continue his development in Sweden at AIK until he feels ready to take the next step. Gabriel Özkan for sure has bags of potential but still has lot to learn in his game and he will benefit from playing in the Allsvenskan for a season or two.
On November 14, 2006, he made his debut for the Swedish Under-21 football team against France.
