Galenika, Zemun

Galenika (Галеника) is an urban neighborhood in Belgrade, Serbia. It is located in Belgrade's municipality of Zemun. Galenika has population of around 30000. Initially, in the 1960's, it was a neighborhood separated from rest of Zemun, but due to urban expansion it became integral part of city during 1980's.
It has older part, consisted of individual houses, and newer - sky-scraper - part. Galenika is peacefull neighborhood, with several parks with playgrounds for children, and numerous recreational sports terrains (basketball, football, volleyball...). There is also nice walking path going around "Galenika" neighborhood. Major retail chains have its supermarkets (Rodic, Maxi, ZIG...) here. Galenika is very well connected with the rest of Zemun and Belgrade with public bus transportation lines: 84, 707, 17, 704, 706, 73.
Galenika is pleasent place to live, and it is reflected in recent rise in property prices, which are to rise further with plans to build bridge over near by river of Danube untill 2021.
