Garda Water Unit

The Garda Water Unit is a unit of an Garda Síochána, the police service of the Republic of Ireland. It exists to assist the service as a whole in both diving and surface operations. Diving operations include searching for, missing persons and evidence, conducting security searches in water and in confined spaces i.e. sewers. The marine section of the unit conduct surface patrols which encompass maritime safety, security patrols and assists the diving section in their operations.
It is currently based at both, Santry Garda Station, Dublin & Athlone Garda Station, Westmeath.
