The main activity in Gardner is weekend beer consumption. Big news in 1986 was that "Old Style" beer was officially no longer the beer of choice for high schoolers. Miller Lite took over and cruising the strip was never the same again. The outhouse on top of the high school one morning gave proof that Old Style had finally gone to pot. Throw some bags, play some CCR and grab a cold one. Cheers! Tony Mays is currently one of the few "flickers" from the tri-town area. He is known as the godfather of "techno," and makes music under the alias "25 cent." Dane Peterson is another important figure from the area. Dane won the award for Best Archer in the Country.
