Gateway High School (Zimbabwe)

Gateway High School is a Christian co-educational school catering for 600 students from Form 1 to Upper 6. The school is also one of the finest racially-diverse schools in Zimbabwe.
The school had its first form 1 intake in 1991 and the first upper 6 class graduated in 1995 under the headship of Paul Revell, along with Marcus Chibisa and Ron Montague as his deputies. The school is located on Golden Stairs Road also known as Second Street Extension in the leafy suburbs of Mount Pleasant, Harare.
The school prepares students for the University of Cambridge O-Level and A-Level examinations. Gateway is well known for its academic excellence. The school has been blessed with a very athletic student body with a very strong hockey team, the "Scorpions". The school's First XV call themselves the "Warthogs" and this school has produced some of Zimbabwe's most talented Schoolboy rugby players. Warthog teams have often toured some of the best rugby playing schools in South Africa and the United Kingdom.
It is one of the best co-ed schools in Zimbabwe,[citation needed] offering a wide range of subjects to choose from - catering for both intelligent and for average students. Actually, Gateway High School has been named in the Top 20 best schools in all of Africa.
