Gaziantepspor is a Turkish sports club based in Gaziantep in southern Turkey. Gaziantepspor currently plays in the Turkish Premier Super League. After a turbulent season, in which survival in the top flight was not assured until the last day with a victory over Malatyaspor, Gaziantepspor have recruited the ex-Italian goalkeeper Walter 'Spiderman' Zenga as their new manager. He has a two year deal and it is hoped that he can bring some much needed stability to the club. Antep are currently embarking on a pre-season tour to the Netherlands. One of Gaziantepsor's finest moments came when they reached the third round of the UEFA Cup and got knocked out 2-1 on aggregate by AS Roma in 2003-04 but arguably their finest was in 2000/01 when they were in contention to win the league until the final day of the season but a 4-3 loss away to Fenerbahçe despite leading 3-0 at half time cost them any realistic chance. This meant that the first realistic chance that an Anatolian side had of breaking the domination of the big four was lost. Now due to the relegation of Malatyaspor and Diyarbakırspor Antep is the only side from the south east in the Super League. She was became third in 2000-2001 and 2001-2002 seasons.
