George Roland Edward Brown was born in 1972 in Boston, Massachusetts to Danette Rae Brown. George grew up in the Boston area until he was 15 years old. In 1987, George's family moved to Nashville, TN when his mother's company transferred her. George attended McGavock High School and worked at Opryland USA amusement park. The family then moved to Albuqueruque, NM where George attended Highland High School. As a Junior, George began interning at KOAT-TV, the ABC affiliate, in his pursuit to become an on-air journalist. George then took a paying position as a newsroom assistant at KRQE-TV, (then KGGM-TV) the CBS affiliate. In 1991, George was a freshman at the University of Missouri-Columbia. George also attended Columbia College in Columbia. George graduated with a major in Liberal Arts nad a minor in Criminal Justice. George eventually worked at KMIZ-TVin Columbia, Mo in various roles. George then moved to Augusta, GA and worked at the NBC affiliate WAGT as a reporter and anchor. George covered the Masters for four years and played the course once. In 2001, George took a reporter position at WMC-TV, the NBC affiliate in Memphis, TN. George has appeared on MSNBC, the Today Show, CNN and made several appearances on the Larry King show while covering the Mary Winkler murder case. In 2004, George married Katherine Brown. In 2006, Garrett Grattan Edward Brown was born to George and Katherine. George's mother lives in Gloucester, Ma.
