[edit] History
Established in 1984 as GeoQuest Systems, Inc. by five founders including Russell Herron and Jim Emmons, GeoQuest was later purchased by Raytheon Corp.
GeoQuest was sold to the Schlumberger in 1993, where it eventually became known as Schlumberger Technology Corp. In July 1999, GeoQuest acquired Merak Projects, a reserves, economics and field optimization software company. As Schlumberger began to integrate its acquired brands into the Schlumberger brand, GeoQuest became part of the Schlumberger Information Solutions division, also known as SIS.
