George C. Page
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
George C. Page was a farmer boy from Fremont, Nebraska who left for California at the age of sixteen because of an orange. He had only $2.30. He worked as a busboy and a dishwasher until he had earned $1000 dollars. With this money, he bought a vacant store and founded a company named Mission-Pak, which shipped California fruits as holiday gifts. Page later founded a successful sports car manufacturing plant, and he was able to develop industrial parks, residential areas, and other real estate projects.
The Page Museum at La Brea Tar Pits is named after him.
