George Nelson Tremper High School was named after Mr. George Nelson Tremper, who was the principal of Kenosha High School from 1911 to 1944. The 272,786 square foot Tremper High School was completed in the fall of 1964 and opened in January 1966. The first class to graduate from Tremper High School did so in June 1965. Tremper High School was designed by John J. Flad Architects in Madison, Wisconsin, and built by Camosy Incorporated, Kenosha, Wisconsin, for a cost of approximately $4,860,000. The Tremper Trojans compete in the WIAA Southeast Conference.

Tremper won state championship in 1979, 1980, and 1991; and was runner up in 1990, 1992, 1995, and 2001. Coach Ron Davies led the Trojans to all their state championships, except those in years past 1992. In 1995, Coach Tom Follis led the team, and in 2001, Coach Frank Matrise led the Trojans to a 13-1 season.[citation needed]
[edit] Tremper and Wikipedia
As of 3/19/07, the Kenosha Unified School District filter has restricted access to the site known as Wikipedia citing that the site is "an unreliable source of information." Tremper and other Unified students are urged to use other purchased reference tools, such as World Book Encyclopedia that are "not prone to subversive manipulation," stated in the Kenosha News.[citation needed]
[edit] Tremper Mascots
The mascot of Tremper is the Trojan. A different tradition that emerges at the basketball games is a penguin known as "Hootie."[citation needed]
