Talk:Geographic profiling
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Yes, the two probably should be merged. Geographic profiling was the original term used. --70.113.41.197
- The Geographical profiling article isn't quite an accurate description, nor the proper term. I don't see anything useful in that article, to add and merge to this article. As 70.113.41.197 says, Geographic profiling is the correct term. --Aude 03:11, 29 September 2005 (UTC)
The page was (and perhaps still is) a non-scientific and non-empirical Rigel ad, which has quite thin connections to reality as we know it. A multitude of research on the matter has pointed out that Rigel bases it's calculations on Wild Assed Guess mathematics with no empirical basis what so ever. I will happily deliver sources to prove this, but as this page is about Geographical Profiling (a term largely coined by Mr. Rossmo, Rigel's frontman), I will not troll it further. To educate, I however changed the article towards a bit more informative note. I really would have liked to write in quite a different tone, but out of respect towards Wikipedia, did not.
