George Burns's real first name is commonly given as Nathan; for what it's worth, however, I have a letter dated March 1, 1973, and signed by him (though perhaps typewritten by someone else) in which he told me his real first name was Nathaniel. He also wrote that Gracie used to call him "Sugarthroat." Richard K. Carson 06:40, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

the lead section is incredibly generous to Mr. Burns. A "titan of American comedy"? This is an encyclopedia folks. I'll try to rework it a bit.--Alhutch 00:10, 22 February 2006 (UTC)

I removed all the non-NPOV embellishments, and tried to improve some other non-wiki wording. I hope it meets with your approval. However, I could not come up with a more appropriate-sounding title for the "Final years" section. Nightscream 08:39, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
