Germany's Next Top Model Cycle 1, Another Top Model franchise that airs on ProSieben network. Launched last January 25, 2006 with 12 girls in the competition. It has already finished its first season, with winner Lena Gercke. The show got its season finale at Paris, France, wherein ANTM Cycle 2 leads their season finale on the same country as well. NEXT Model Management currently manages the winner.
The show has a little bit difference from the top model of ANTM, since it has gone with almost three episodes with a double-elimination for the models. The show is hosted by another supermodel Heidi Klum,

[edit] The Girl Who Jumps Into Cold Water

Out of over 11,000 applicants, 32 girls aged 16 to 22 have come to see if they have what it takes to be Germany's Next Top Model. For their first challenge, the young women must prove themselves by modelling their favourite outfit out of everything they have packed in their own suitcase. Drama ensues when 19-year-old Andrea discovers that she doesn't know the combination to her suitcase and has to make a frantic call to her mother. In the end she has to borrow an outfit from another competitor. Many of the girls have fudged their measurements on their application forms. The judges narrow down the competition to twenty girls.
In the next challenge, the 20 wanna-be models are taken by bus to a mine in the Walsum region of Duisburg. They have to put on a fashionshow in front of an audience of miners. The girls are shocked by the setting (and the outfits) but are willing to do what it takes to succeed. Bruce Darnell cries with joy at their success. 8 more girls are eliminated, leaving 12 to continue in the competition. Heidi announces that they will be going to New York.
[edit] The Girl Whose Dreams are Shattered

Luise creates a lot of drama because of her fear of flying. She survives. Once in NY the girls have their first runway training with Bruce on a Skyscaper. The girls meet up with Heidi at the Victoria's Secret show and get to try out the most famous catwalk in the world.
The first photoshoot takes place at night on a rooftop in the freezing cold. Russell James shoots the models in Victoria Secrets lingerie with a view of the New York Skyline and the Brooklyn Bridge. For their first challenge, the girls are given $100 each to find a second-hand outfit for themselves to wear to the Victoria`s Secret Show. Jennifer is chosen as the winner by Gisele Bundchen. Jennifer and friend Luise get to watch the big show.
Andrea is eliminated because of lack of expression in her photos. Anne also fails to impress the judges.

The girls reutrn to Germany and are installed in new accommodation. Unfortunately, there are too few beds and the girls will have to make compromises. Celine is unhappy about the new situation and during the makeovers she talks to Heidi about her complaints. In the end she decides to leave the show.
The judges discover that Micaela has lied to them about her modelling history. It turns out that she has done nude photos in the past. Heidi decides to give her a second chance.
The stylist tries to give each of the girls a new look. Lena G. gets a dramatic new short crop, but Janina refuses to let the stylist near her hair. The theme of the photo shoot is iconic styles of the 1930s and 1940s. Joachim Baldauf shoots the girls with spiders and snakes. Charlotte refuses to touch the snake, but agrees to have a spider on her shoulder.
Micaela just barely stays in the competition but Rahel is sent home. Although she showed a lot of potential, her look wasn't what the judges are looking for.

It's now down to Jennifer, Lena M., Luise, Lena G., Yvonne, Janina, Charlotte and Micaela. In the generous Outfit by the waiting passengers at the platform three the Düsseldorfer Rhine course.
Luise and Charlotte completed the task best and seal to be allowed now Klum married man to the “Night Of the Proms” to Rotterdam to accompany! The other girls spend the evening in the LOFT with meals and gossip with Heidi Klum. But the cosine is soon again piston the next day professional press training waits for the candidates.

The girls complete play training with a play teacher. Luise makes itself very good thereby and shows talent. An informative morning. Because even if a Model must be not at the same time actress, it showed up nevertheless whom it falls easily into a strange role to slip. And exactly that must control a top model. In the theatre: The girls play a dear scene with Erol Sander. The DATE can begin one man, two women, five waitresses and many small misfortunes.
On the next morning the most difficult Photo shoot is approaching for the girls. 30 tons weighs the bulletproof glass basin filled with 12.000 litters water, in which the girls for the camera floats must. The effect of weightlessness in the water is with advertising photographers much likes. For the Models it is a genuine challenge. They must stop as for a long time as possible air and control of the body are under water everything else as easy. From the outset Luise has again and again new problems. In the evening: Karaoke with Heidi in the LOFT.
Before it places itself to the jury, Janina seizes a heavy, personal resolution: after she still refused with the first date, she can be finally cut in such a way now the hair, as the jury recommended it to it. On the glaring result she did not count and is totally finished. She is ugly. Before the decision: Girls run with eggs under the feet in the evening gown. At end it is certain: Luise must go - them are not yet so far, have constantly Phobia, fears, diseases and employ themselves simply too much.

Dance training with Choreographer Georgia from London. The girls learn a dance signal element sequence from the musical “incoming goods want skirt you”. They need that for the later Bewegungs shooting with Norbert of bear. Yvonne can not really follow and cries. Surprise in the LOFT: parents visit the girls - joy and tears purely!
Escada - chief designer Brian Rennie loads the girls to a Casting in. The Casting is only one test to convince in order to find which out of the six able would be already earliest, with the Casting for a worldwide Top mark. Lena G. and Janina make it best and may for one evening and one night to Paris - Peyman amine visit.
On the next morning a Photo shoot in Cologne in the “incoming goods lines up wants to skirt you” - theatres. Jennifer has bad belly pain, jumps however over its shade and convinced. Charlotte is not so good, can present itself badly sexy. Lena G. and Janina are tired after only one hour sleep, tear themselves however together and make good photos. The decision: Lena M. and Charlotte must go. Bruce is speechless and cries, because Lena M. was its favourite nevertheless. At the end Heidi of the remaining four girls says good-bye with the request that they must be able to be removed all their Körperbehaarung, because a Body painting lines up.

[edit] The Girl Who Doesn't Play Well
The presence of Markus makes the girls nervous. The fact that they do not know yet, how equal Yvonne the show wants to announce, does not make it better… The temporal operational sequence is certain. The four time the Outfit have to change only 1 minute, otherwise the show has gaps. How do they create it with the hectic to clear-come? How do they react, if there are breakdowns? Exactly that wants to tighten the jury with this task. Later the girls ease with a Billard round with Markus.
The next morning. Attendance announced itself. Body paint with Joanne Gair from New Zealand wants to learn the girls before the Shooting to know personally. It becomes a hard day for all. Joanne will paint and will photograph two girls per day. For the Body painting of a Models, it needs between six and seven hours. Lena has problems with its photo and wants the whole to consider itself. But their it is conscious that the photo plays like always a large role for the decision.
The Body painting is in full course. As the second post office Jennifer before Joannes camera. It creates it to forget that it does not have anything except color at the body. During Joanne begins the different layers of Yvonne Body painting to lay on, arrives also to Lena at the Studio. The whole night struggled and considered it with itself, whether it is to make the Shooting, or not and it does it.
It also for Heidi and its jury becomes so difficult: Today they must decide, to become which of the four girls has the Potenzial, „Germany' s NEXT top model “. And they decide to let all four girls a round come further.

[edit] The Girl Who Doesn't Push Hard
After one week at home the girls meet at the resident of Munich airport. A goal: unknown. At the switch Heidi deposited a message for the girls: it fly to Los Angeles! After 12 hours in the airplane the girls arrive at California and refer their hotel. On the next morning they wait strained for it like it continue. And Heidi already is to the place and explains the new Challenge: The girls visit the star Frisuer Giuseppe Franco. But the girls are not here, in order to be spoiled.
They must address stranger of people on the road and persuade them to a styling. 30 minutes have the four now time, in order to prove Heidi and Armin that they have a feeling for make-up and Hairstyling. Winner inside: Lena and Jennifer. Next gangway training at the Santa Monica jetty, one of the most famous Strand promenade of the world. The bases Bruce taught to the girls. Now he prepares it for the different styles, which are in demand on the international gangways. On the next day: a Photo shoot, which will considerably affect the decision of the jury. At 6.30 the preparations at the famous Malibu Beach start o'clock. The girls are photographed in the Bikini with the Trampolinspringen. Be called pictures!
The last task is a fasion show: first in the sporty, natural Look. Then sexy and elegantly. Under time pressure they must co-ordinate their make-up with the Outfit and express this style also still in its run.
Then the decision: the jury confers a last mark. Minutes, which decide on future of the girls. Janinas dream ends here. She worked hard, but the jury is the opinion that the other girls still more Potenzial have.

[edit] The Girl Who Becomes Germany's Next Top Model
A double examination is approaching for the girls. They must convince the Casting Director AND prove Heidi thereby that they would be as top models able, to slip before the camera into a strange role. Jennifer makes itself thereby at the best one. Hard days in LA: Lena, Jennifer and Yvonne must fight against their tiredness. The show for the Jeans label YMI in in club Basque Hollywood is an important test. In the small framework the girls are to get accustomed to it for a designer before public to run. Top model candidate inside must shine with the show in the club, otherwise they go down on really important gangways.
The test in the club was a full success. But on the next morning Heidi organized already again a date. It is on the way to Christian's AUDI greed, the designer of the Street ware label OD Hardy. The cool Look is particularly announced with Hollywood of star extremely. With OD the Hardy Shooting is responsible the girls for everything. Now they can show whether they watched out with Armin well. LA has to offer much. But the largest attraction for the girls was it not to think for a few hours of its achievements and have with Heidi fun. To the daily strolls it ended together over the Santa Monica jetty.
Still do not know Lena, Jennifer and Yvonne that morning will become a completely special day for it: at 7 o'clock of morning starts the photo Shooting with the chief talking document urine of the German Cosmopolitan, Petra Gessulat and star photographer Pavel Havlicek.
While Heidi remains because of dates in LA, the girls travel to Paris. Here it expects its largest challenge. The small show in the club in LA, training with Bruce - everything served the preparation on a completely special moment! John Ribbe, an internationally successful designer invites the girls to the Casting. There the girls will compete for the first time with professional Models. All girls have their strengths, in addition, their weaknesses. And only one of them can become Germany' s NEXT top model “. This time however each still continued to come.
