Talk:Ghotis

[edit] Not Derogatory
As with Bangals, Ragib states in the history that the term Ghoti is derogatory. In my direct experience, it is not. My wife is a Ghoti and routinely refers to herself and her family with that term. In almost every meeting between Bengali Hindus that I have witnessed, there is always a brief discussion regarding whether the other person is a Ghoti or a Bangal and there is never any hint that the term is derogatory
[edit] move
The article needs to be moved to "Ghoti" but that is already being used by the word referring to English linguistics. Move to Ghoti (ethnic) and disambiguation is necessary. Any idea on this? -- Urnonav 14:21, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Pronunciation
According to George Bernard Shaw, Ghoti can be pronounced fish!?!?!?
