Gibborim (biblical)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Gibborim, whose Hebrew name translates as "Mighty Men of Renown," (or just simply "Heroes") are mentioned in chapter six, verse four of Genesis, the first book of the Bible. Some believe that these Gibborim were the offspring of angels and human women. Others believe these were sons (descendants) of Abel who married daughters (female descendants) of Cain:
- There were giants in the Earth in those days; and after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
Theosophy has created a set of beliefs around the Gibborim, and they also figure in New Age beliefs.
