i believe that shylock grabs the attention in the play............he is the most hated man in the play and he only trusts one person.......tubal, his jewish friend.......even though he has a daughter:jessica, he loves his money more than her. He hates christians especially antonio and bassanio and calls bassanio the prodgical christian.........he also wanted to kill antonio with the one pound of flesh closest to his heart and i personally think that he would keep it as a sign of victory over the christians.....
