Glasgow Airport Railway Station is a proposed railway station which will be opened in 2009 to serve Glasgow International Airport, Scotland. The station will be the western terminus of the Glasgow Airport Rail Link (GARL). Four trains an hour will run between Glasgow Airport and Glasgow Central stations. Services will be run by SPT on behalf of First ScotRail.
On November 29, 2006, the Scottish Parliament passed the Glasgow Airport Rail Link bill by 118-8. allowing construction of the link to begin, including the airport rail station. The station is expected to be built in 2008 after a viaduct linking the proposed route with the Inverclyde Line is built over the M8 motorway.
BAA (British Airports Authority), the owners of Glasgow International Airport, are expected to fund the building of a walkway from the main terminal building to the new railway station. The station will have two platforms for terminating and departing services.
