A Glasgow salad is an insult aimed at Glaswegians and makes reference to the supposed bad diet of Glaswegians; a Glasgow salad being a portion of chips served in paper and soaked liberally with salt and vinegar.
Another definition of a Glasgow salad is the green stuff that is left on the side of the plate when you have finished your meal.
