Glass and Ashes are a four piece punk rock band from Ventura, California. They released their debut album "Aesthetic Arrest" in October 2004 on No Idea Records, a Florida based independent record label founded by Var Thelin. Since then, they have released a split 7" with Portland's Science of Yabra, released on Code of Ethics Records.
The band is comprised of guitarists Jesse Jenny and Josh Hayes, drummer Michael Gleeson and bassist Michael Carter. In May 2005, Hayes replaced original guitarist, Dave Hall, who had played with Carter, Gleeson and Jenny for 4 years previous to the forming of Glass and Ashes, although they were then known as Kenji.
Since joining Florida label, No Idea Records, Glass and Ashes have toured the United States extensively, supporting bands such as Planes Mistaken for Stars and Smoke or Fire. In 2006 they will embark on their first headlining European tour, courtesy of The Company With The Golden Arm, a record label/booking agency founded by Ingo Ebeling and based out of Hamburg, Germany.
Glass and Ashes' sound has been compared to labelmates Hot Water Music and Planes Mistaken for Stars.
