Glenn Lee Benner II

Glenn Benner was executed by the State of Ohio on February 7, 2006 for the sexual assaults and murders of two Ohio women. Convicted of aggravated murder, kidnapping and rape on May 14, 1986, Benner spent 19 years, 8 months, and 25 days on death row.
On August 6, 1985, Benner murdered 26-year-old Cynthia Sedgwick in the woods surrounding the Blossom Music Center in Summit County where she had attended a concert. Benner abducted Sedgwick, raped her and choked her to death. On January 2, 1986, Benner murdered an acquaintance, 21-year-old Trina Bowser, in Akron. Benner kidnapped Bowser, raped her and killed her. He was also convicted for the attempted murders and rapes of two other woman on two separate occasions. DNA testing, conducted during federal appeals in 2003, identified Benner as the source of semen found in Bowser's vagina and rectum.
