For those of you wondering, this award is is awarded to everyone in the military who is not in Boot Camp or their MOS school and has been in the "fleet"(as we call it in the Marine Corps) for over 30 days. Its real easy to tell the brand new "boots" from the ones tht have been around for a little while by whether they have the GWOT Service an the National Defense or only the National Defense. Not sure what it means to be "in the fleet" since I don't speak USMC, but something sounds wrong about that statement. There are many positions in the military which will not afford one the opportunity to support the GWOT within 30 days of being MOSQed. --VAcharon 17:49, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
