Walked along from the clock to the end of the markers against the euc (or is it now the other corhymbia or whatever) citriodora - and the markers are for all the powers that be in 1929, and the members of the 1929 centenary committee - I have jpegs of them all, and at a rough guess there are about three missing. Mainly off wiki for a quite while - but I thought I better let you know this SatuSuro 11:49, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
I think its important to think that the 1929 committee (and they were a good connection to Snots/Horgans hungry six and rellies included) and the "dignatories" of 1929 all were placing a non-native tree (euc citriodora is a nws one i think) along the "promenade" which so many of the mount street and west perth residents (which was the peppy grove area of that era) - all walking distance from parl house and "the terrace" - maybe not intro - but somewhere. Answer to yr question re Cowan Clock I thought I@n or you had an art or image up? Hey I'm out, will catchup later SatuSuro 12:01, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry to pry, but did you know we have Edith Dircksey Cowan Memorial, courtesy of Mr Snottygobble? -- I@n 17:53, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
- I'd say its part of the entry statement and should be inlcuded in the KP article. Good idea to expand that 'cause it really needs improving from last time I looked. -- I@n 01:45, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

Popups
I noticed you did an incorrect revert with popups on the Kangaroo article. You've got to hover over the good revision date and select Actions > Revert. The Revert action will Revert to the date you've hovered over. Thanks! — JeremyTalk 06:46, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
Stop reverting to the mistake made in the AC/DC article
Please stop changing the AC/DC article back to the mistake made before. We have discussed it, and all agreed that it is true that they are both British and Australian. All you are doing is creating arguments, making large mistakes and getting yourself into a revert war that you can't win. Stop it now, and leave it as it is. Suicidal Lemming 15:26, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
-
- Please take the time to learn the meanings of origin and nationality. PLease also read all 32 sources for the article as your claim is unverifiable Gnangarra 00:56, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
- My claim is 100% true. It is both Australian and British. (ignore comment: if you had any common sense, you could see that.) Stop reverting to the old error. Suicidal Lemming 17:10, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
AC/DC edit war
It's not worth getting blocked for 3RR trying to edit war with Suicidal Lemming. Here is what I posted on the AC/DC talk page.:
-
- Based on the last comments from Suicidal Lemming who has violated WP:3RR, WP:CITE, WP:CIVIL, WP:NPA, WP:OWN plus a couple of others. I suggest that this edit war and the users policy abuse be reported to Wikipedia Administrator noticeboard for more help.
I'd say that No Bullet is on your side as far as the edit war goes. You're both right...AC/DC are an Autralian band and no citations will ever be found to say otherwise. 207.179.148.97 17:41, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
- I'm afraid that they are most certainly not right. AC/DC are both British and Australian. Check the pages of each member for proof of this. It is wrong to claim otherwise. Suicidal Lemming 17:54, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
No contest. I think that english fans claimed AC/DC in the same way Australia claim kiwi bands. Anyone making that claim in Freo (Fremantle) on a Friday night would be a Suicidal Lemming! I always thought of them as a transnational band originating in Aus. Fred.e 15:22, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

- Is your Commons userpage saying that you are no longer contributing at all; or do you intend to continue submitting images but not to engage in discussions and organisation of articles? Snottygobble 11:52, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
- bit of both Gnangarra
Mentioning this here because I assume you're not watching Ccommons. The Category:Banksia cunninghami that you created earlier this week was (1) a spelling error - should have been "cunninghamii"; and (2) a disputed taxon. The official (but not universally accepted) classification has it as a variety of B. spinulosa. Cas already had a number of B. spinulosa var. cunninghamii images in Category:Banksia spinulosa, so I retagged your B. cunninghamii image into the B. spinulosa category, and have nominated the B. cunninghamii category for deletion. Hope that makes sense. Snottygobble 04:07, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

TBA scan
Wikipedia's email tool doesn't permit attachments, so I would have had to ask you to email me your email address. And I wasn't sure how your mail server would respond to an 8Mb attachment. So I have uploaded the scan here. Can you let me know when you've downloaded it, and I will then delete it from the server? Snottygobble 22:57, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

commons
Hey Gnangarra,
I noticed you've given up on Commons for a while... good idea to take a wikibreak when things start getting stressful. if it's not enjoyable then definitely go volunteer where it is! But I just wanted to let you know that your work on Commons is much appreciated and you'll be welcomed back whenever you decide to make a return. It's also very important to have a wide range of input on topics like category organisation, since they're so important to the Commons, but I understand if you just find it too stressful.
Here's a bottlebrush, I was going to give you a banksia but I thought maybe you'd have seen them all already. :)
cheers, pfctdayelise (translate?) 12:41, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
- thank you for your kind message on Commons. --Diligent 16:11, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
Mount Dale
I saw the photos of Mount Dale that you uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, and I have a favour to ask. Could you please take a look at the Mount Dale article and make any changes that seem appropriate? --TruthbringerToronto (Talk | contribs) 08:08, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
- Merged into Mount Dale. Mount Dale (Western Australia), Mount Dale, Western Australia and Mount Dale, Australia are now redirects. Snottygobble 13:01, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
- Nah, be bold! What could someone possibly say to dispute these being merged?! You're welcome.
- I might be joining you on the sidelines of Commons yet. Cracking skulls and copping abuse for it isn't my idea of a hobby. Snottygobble 13:11, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
- Maybe you all need a NYYYAAAAAAAAHHHHHH NYYYYYAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH ITS SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSATUSURO! to make your weekend or something like that? SatuSuro 13:43, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
- I'm watching Steve McQueens car chases in Bullitt as an antidote to editing at the moment :0 SatuSuro 13:43, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
- I keep forgetting how the 1960's movies were so innocent despite the deaths - Bullitt supposedly was the first movie to have the word bullshit in it.
- Anyways enjoy the weekend! SatuSuro 14:41, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you all for your help on Mount Dale and with merging the two articles. --TruthbringerToronto (Talk | contribs) 14:15, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
Kings Park comment.
I thought that the article was very good. The photo gallery was very good. Can I make the following suggestions: Mention of the Jewish war memorial. More on the fauna and particuarly flora. Emphasis on substantial parcel of land adjacent to Parliament and the CBD. Cheers Fred.e 20:25, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
- Ta for the welcome message. I have noticed your tag on many of the sites I was interested in, so I checked out your userpage. From there I have joined the Wikiproject Perth. I am will try to tart up my own user page and add my special areas of interest. I noted your excellent photos. I tracked down the Jewish memorial (adjacent to cenotaph) mentioned above with some difficulty. I think it makes an interesting addition to the Kings park article but I am not bold enough to add it. A separate service still takes place on ANZAC day. I think there is a connection with Monash.Fred.e 15:54, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
Schellenberg
Gnangarra, Thanks for your comments on the article Battle of Schellenberg. I've changed the cultural reference section to make it it a little more clear. It's really on an adjunct to the article which at the time seemed like a good idea ; )
Another point you raised was the fact the the Bavarian commander is only a red-link. I've searched high and low for info on him with no success whatsoever - not even for a stub! Thanks for your comments Raymond Palmer 21:21, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
-
- Thanks for your support. If you want some support for the AC/DC article don't hesitate to ask. The first album I ever bought was If You Want Blood . . when i was nine years old. I still listen to them today and I have Never considered ACDC as even partly British. To me they were always an Australian band and always will be. (I'm a Pom BTW) ;) Raymond Palmer 14:15, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

Quality images: Way into the Sea
I think you were a little too quick in evaluating my "Way into the sea" picture. As a matter of fact, it is not a family picture. The person at the beach was a complete unknown and I had the sensation that she was being attracted by that "sea path". Maybe the picture can be slightly cropped to reinforce the message. - Thank you for your prompt and kind reply. I also appreciate that you moved the picture to "Consensual review". -- Alvesgaspar 13:43, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

Commons
This is a good sign. Introducing featured galleries means galleries have to be selective about what images they include, which obviously has my support since I proposed it here. This would mean that categories would take on the role of containing all the images, which means that gallery and categories will be permitted to co-exist, which means discarding the ridiculous rule that categories can't go down to species level no matter how big the genus category gets. I hope it gets off the ground. Hesperian 01:25, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

78 Records AFD
Hello Gnangarra. The new citation that I see on 78 Records to the The West Australian is only a pointer to the WP article about The West Australian, it is not a pointer to any mention of 78 Records. Probably this is not what you meant to add. It should not be left there in its current state. EdJohnston 21:27, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
I can see that the context of the early 78 comments of mine might indeed be more relevant street oriented - which need to be placed in time contexts in some way - decades? 70's Perth? I have also put a comment on forrest place talk - I am sure Padbury Bdgs came down before 1990 SatuSuro 11:39, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

Quality images reviews
I think we have a little crisis with Commons:Quality images candidates. New entries are coming every day but few people are reviewing. Personnaly, I have to restraint myself from doing too many evaluations. Not only because I'm a newbie with little experience with digital photo but also because we need other opinions. What can we do to make people participate more in the process? What do you think of putting a banner in the begining of the page, calling for participation? Greetings, Alvesgaspar 22:37, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- I hope you are right, I'll try not to review for some days. Please look at my new comment in Consensual Review, maybe our disagreement about resolution could be easily solved with less restrictive guidelines. - Alvesgaspar 10:13, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, the propensity (I've been to the local tip today and it inspires shakespearian thoughts) for the swan valley and localities in it to read like one big ad for selected wineries misses the point about the level of pollution that the wineries have put into the soil with all their herbicides (!).
