Goal horn
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A goal horn is a loud air horn used in the NHL's arenas. Whenever the hometown hockey team scores against the visiting team, or if the home team wins the hockey game, the goal horn is sounded in the arena. These horns should not be confused with the similar one-tone horns that mark the end of the period.
[edit] Types
The goal horns in the NHL have many kinds of tones. Over long periods of time, their sounds are altered so that a new chord or tone can be blasted.
