My special area of expertise is with Computer-aided manufacturing, specifically software generating G-code for CNC Milling machines.

I wrote most of the algorithms in machining STRATEGIST while employed at NC Graphics, and intend to explain what I can of these hidden algorithms that are the basis of so much manufacturing.

Work begins on Computer-aided manufacturing. It's pretty hard to get it down.

The basic starting point is cutter location.

The whole layout of this area of wikipedia is shambolic, which pretty much represents the sloppy state of terminology in the industry, and the complete disconnection the academic establishment has assumed in relation to the state of the art in this technology. It's not obvious how to sort this out.

One could lift the terminology from brochures, but everyone who writes them just makes it up as they go along. We need to see some consultation with users to work out what they like to call these things.

Even being able to resolve CNC, G-codes, 5-axis milling machings, and CAM into separate concepts is impossible at the moment.

I've got a set of pictures from a text I attempted to write, which I will upload when I can.

I have also found I have a talent for writing parsers of online badly structured data, and used it to build Publicwhip to uncover all the MP's votes in Parliament. A byproduct of this work was input into theyworkforyou.

This user would support the existance of a Wikipedia:WikiProject_Caves. You know it makes a lot more sense than Wikipedia:WikiProject_Waterfalls. There are a lot of pages of the type in the mega-category http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Caves_by_country .

In some places there are big lists of caves, such as Caves_of_the_Mendip_Hills#List_of_caves

There's a lack of a special cave Cave_survey page wherein some examples of very old and new surveys are uploaded to show off their artistic and historical value. Also, special pages for the software therion and survex are definitely warranted.

Maybe there's something on the German or Cz pages.

There needs to be a special cave infobox. Like the mountain infobox at Buachaille Etive Mòr.

There's a proto-infobox on Steinbrückenhöhle. This is not a real infobox, because the table is in the page, rather than being template generated.

Just done a lot of research in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Graphic_templates and found some similar thoughts, but nothing quite right here. So I've got to make another template for overlaying these surveys.

Any cave infobox should contain GPS coordinates of the entrance, a link to a survey drawing (either on or off the wikipedia site), pixel coordinates of the corresponding entrance on the bitmap, scale of the survey (metres per pixel), north vector -- providing enough information to scrape and overlay onto any mapping system.

This will require an infobox map position, which will have a URL to bitmap, bitmapheight, bitmapwidth, feature, GPS coords of feature, pixel x of feature, pixel y of feature, metres per pixel, north vector in degrees.

Use this as an entry into the survey position in the infobox Cave

This is similar to Template:Superimpose
